In Chapter 11 in Jesus before Christianity the Hebrews believed "It was God who ordained the times". Jesus represents a new time, the coming of the Kingdom of God. By Jesus' representing this and proclaiming the new time, is he making a direct connection between himself and God? Is he claiming he is God by ordaining the times? This proclamation angered many people of the Jewish community of Jesus' time. He was declaring things that the Jews believed could only be determined by God. In the gospel of John it asserts Jesus' representing the coming of the kingdom of God. Even with references in the bible it leads one to think was Jesus arrogant and cocky or was he in fact God.
